#e28 Many personalities within ourself

People have several personalities.
Rather than personalities, it might be better to speak of a number of perspectives and emotions.

Because, when we think and act, if we have only one point of view or emotion, we run the risk of running out of control.
These several personalities mature as we age.
So, when we are young, the whole character is young and can become reckless and fearless in speech and behavior.

Since everyone has these different characters, I don’t think the negative term “dual personality” or “multiple personalities” is appropriate.

I think it is important to notice and nurture each person within everyone and let them voice their opinions.
And to satisfy every personality.
To deny the personality within you is the same as eliminating one of your own. That suppression will have a negative effect later on.

Cultivate awareness of every personality.

Have you ever been alone, thinking about things, and you find yourself talking to yourself?

Affirming,
Negative,
Sometimes you remember something from the past, and you unconsciously “spit out” the words.
At that moment, someone is arguing with someone else inside you.

Recognizing that multiple perspectives and emotions exist within us is an important process in self-understanding and growth.
We may show different sides of ourselves depending on the situation and the people we associate with, and each may function like a separate “personality”.
These show that we are complex and multifaceted beings.

This diversity of inner life is necessary for us to live flexibly and richly.
By having and carefully handling different perspectives and emotions, we can adapt to a wider range of situations and find multiple solutions.

So by becoming aware of each of our “inner personalities” and nurturing them, we can embrace our diversity of self and find a balance that satisfies them all.

Perhaps the best way to nurture one’s inner personality is to be exposed to the work of many people, either through reading or audibles.
Movies, etc. may also be a good idea.

Meditation after all

In order to understand ourselves and bring harmony, it is important to listen to the different voices within us.

And from there, what is even more important is not only to end up reading them, but also to digest them and use them as spiritual nourishment.

This can be done through self-reflection and meditation, which helps us understand the different factors that influence our actions and thoughts.
One of those acts of stirring is meditation.

They say that good athletes are able to be aware of even the smallest details of their movements.
For example, I heard that Naoya Inoue, a boxer, is aware of his ankles and knees when he punches.
It is an old story, but Shimizu, a gold medalist in speed skating, also told me that when he trains his muscles, he is conscious of even the smallest inner muscles.
He said that at the beginning you don’t know what you are doing, but gradually you become aware of them as if you have a nerve connection with them.
And when you become fully aware of it, you will have a higher level of power than before.

I believe that we too can step up to a higher level by accepting, understanding, and harmonizing the various aspects of our inner selves, and that this is the key to true personal growth.
