The phrase “Sumeba Miyako” means that if you live in a certain place for a long time, one becomes attached to that place and is less likely to feel dissatisfied or inconvenienced by it.
We can also apply this concept to our way of life.
The idea is that by choosing a way of life, becoming accustomed to it, and making it one’s own, that way of life becomes a “comfortable style” for oneself.
By shaping your own established way of life, you can find your own personal satisfaction and fulfillment.
To reduce excessive expectations of society and others.
Then, look at your own inner self and abilities, and improve them daily.
By doing so, it is possible to break free from dependence and build happiness by oneself.
Society is made up of a complex set of circumstances for each person.
We all want things to work out for our own convenience.
And what we want from others actually already exists within ourselves.
We are simply wishing for it to happen conveniently.
If you take action to fulfill that hope in yourself, instead of hoping for someone else to do it for you or wishing for luck to come to you, that is the very start of “Ikikata Miyako” (the way of life).
If you do this and lead a fulfilling life, your way of life will eventually take root.
With independence, self-responsibility, and a deep understanding and love for yourself on board, the train will push forward strongly, and a rich view of life will be visible from the windows of the train.
